{"id":554,"date":"2015-06-08T06:37:56","date_gmt":"2014-09-18T09:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nancyannroth.com\/?p=554"},"modified":"2016-10-09T13:25:24","modified_gmt":"2016-10-09T13:25:24","slug":"the-visibility-of-the-image","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nancyannroth.com\/?p=554","title":{"rendered":"The Visibility of the Image"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Professor Lambert Wiesing (shown here with students at the University of Jena, Germany) \u00a0wrote <em>Die Sichtbarkeit des Bildes<\/em> [<em>The Visibility of the Image<\/em>] quite some time ago. \u00a0It was first published in 1996! \u00a0The first edition sold out (!) and he arranged for a second edition in 2008. \u00a0It&#8217;s been something like a best-seller (given that it is philosophy) in Germany, and has been translated into Polish and French.<\/p>\n<p>The book traces a chain of events, specifically the development of formal aesthetics within philosophy.
